Discover our past through historical interpretation. As Ft. Clatsop V.I.P Volunteer Rangers and members of the Pacific Northwest Living Historians, we have been trained in presenting the history of the founding of the west in an exciting and stimulating manner. We have spent the past eight years traveling the Columbia River telling stories of America's conquest of the west. Learn about the first women to come west, the missionaries, explorers and trappers, and the first settlers. We present programs about:

  • The first explorers of the west
  • Fire starting with flint and steel
  • Tools that won the west
  • Women of the west
  • Mapping the west
  • Life on the Oregon Trail
  • Astoria: The founding of the oldest permenant settlement west of the Mississippi.

Our programs are done through the auspices of the Pacific Northwest Living Historians. To book a living historian interpreter call (503) 861-4403 Or e-mail from here. Handouts and reading list included, when applicable.
