Coming to the Washington Side of the Lower Columbia River - A Full Weekend of Historical Events - July 18 & 19

During the fall of 1805 Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery arrived at the mouth of the Columbia River. They made final camp at Station Camp and set out on foot to explore Cape Disappointment and the beach north.

Captain William Clark and his Corp of Discovery Explorers return to Cape Disappointment July 18 & 19. Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This first person interpretive event is a presentation of the Pacific Northwest Living Historians.   • 10 a.m. - Doors Open
  • 11 a.m. - noon - Slide show - Ilwaco to Nahcotta
  • 1 p.m. - Sydney Stevens, North Beach Peninsula's I.R. & N. book signing
  • 2 p.m. - Bus Tour 1 - Ilwaco to Nahcotta (reservations required) $5 or $7.50 for both days

Sunday, July 19

  • 10 a.m. - Doors Open
  • 10:30 - 11:30 - Slide Show - Ilwaco to Megler
  • 11:30 - Bus Tour II, Ilwaco to Megler (reservations required)
  • 1 p.m. - Sydney Stevens North Beach Peninsula's I.R. & N. book signing

  • Local Historical Interpreter Bob Duke will portray a Clamshell Railroad conductor.
  • Railcar Nahcotta No. 10 will be open for touring
  • The Craft Caboose will be open with coloring pages, build a station, and build a train. Fun for all ages.
