Fully Narrated Tours

With so much to see and do on Oregon's north coast, and of course Washington's south coast, a knowledgable local guide can make your visit very rich indeed. Our guides are well versed in the fantastic history of the area, the best places to eat and spend the night, and naturaly all the fun places to visit, and the best times to do that. Let a North Coast Ambassador step on your tour bus and give a lively, interesting, and accurate narrative about life on the lower Columbia River, both past and present. Or let us arrange a tour bus to pick up your group at a location of your choice. Or simply have an ambassador meet you and your party at various locations of interest so we can give you complete information about the area you are visiting. Step-on-guide services run only $20 per hour, with a two hour minimum.

Girl Scouts enjoy 'Smores, two nights in a KOA cabin and an educational trip to Ft. Clatsop, April 15, 16 2005. North Coast Ambassadors are certified, trained park rangers/interpreters at Ft. Clatsop. These scouts learned quill-pen writing and how Lewis and Clark used flint and steel to make fire.

Complete Tour Packages

Start with a night in a log cabin at the Astoria-Warrenton-Seaside KOA. Enjoy a campfire talk presented by a qualified Lewis and Clark interpreter from Ft. Clatsop. Board a bus the next day for a visit to Ft. Clatsop, Lewis and Clark's 1805-6 winter campground. Join our ambassador for a fully narrated tour through Astoria to the Astor Column, wind through hilly streets to see historic Victorian homes before a visit to the incredible Maritime Museum. After the Maritime Museum and lunch, our ambassador will take you aboard the tour bus across the Astoria - Meglar bridge to "Dismal Nitch," the exact spot where the Corps of Discovery nearly lost everything just miles from their destination. Find out how they survived and where they made their final campground on the north side of the river.

Stand near the location of Station Camp and hear the story of how Sacagawea and the slave York participated in the important decision making process that steered their fate for the next 5 months.

We will "proceed on" by bus to Cape Dissapointment and the Lewis and Clark interpretive Center. A stop in the sleepy fishing village of Ilwaco for shopping will top the day before heading back to KOA for a soak in a not so historic jacuzzi, a swim in the pool, or just some relaxation at the campfire that evening.
